On Sunday 2nd October 2011 we had the talent contest. We were all very excited. We met at watersmeet theatre at 2pm. watersmeet theatre was where the contest was. Our rehearsals were between 2.30 - 3.30pm. When we first got there every one else took their seats and I went on stage to practice my solo. First the tech men sorted out my microphone; I was using a hand mic. I sung my song I felt it went really well. All the girls and the staff said it sounded amazing!
After I had finished sorting out what I was going to do on stage I and the btec girls had our rehearsals. We all got on stage and just walked it through the first time. Then the man with head microphones called the five singers over and gave us the head mics to fit and put on. He also told us that they were each worth £2000!!!! This made us all worry! We ran our rehearsals with full energy and singing. It went really well but my mic fell off. So I readjusted it. Afterwards we sat down for a bit and supported some other acts.

After a little while we went off out for dinner. We all went to a Chinese restaurant. All the food was really nice and it was lovely. Also when I was there I found out I got in to rock challenge which made my day!! After we had eaten we took a slow stroll back to the theatre stopped at the shop to get clips and hairspray and arrived back. When we got there we sat down or about 20 Min's and watched a few more acts. Then we got our dresses room. I really liked this I felt so excited with all the mirrors and lights. First of all I got changed into my costume. Miss Dolan then did my eye makeup. It was blue, gold’s and purple and it was glittery. It looked amazing Miss Dolan did a very good job!! It matched the colour of my top which was purple. Miss Norris then curled my hair. It looked lovely until Miss Dolan back combed it which made it more wild but it still look really good for the show! Then put my foundation on, really pink blusher! And lots of mascara and eye liner. Finally Louise painted my nails a really nice bright green and we were all ready to go behind stage!

| both these pictures are us about to go on stage |
When we went up we had to stand really quite behind stage. My solo was the third act and our dance was the fifth act. When I went on I got my microphone as was ready to go! I sung my song really well I hit a couple of notes wrong but I did movements and I made myself proud. Then it came to the comments! This was the worst part of the evening so far! my comments were ok but I knew that what they were all wrong and I thought to myself it’s all or charity that's just ignore them and fun! Then I went on with the dance group named K.D.C! I put all my effort in. we all sung well I made no mistake and I know that my energy was as high as possible. the only bad bit was my £2000!mic fell off again so that effected my performance slightly due to me always trying to put to back on but it wasn't that bad. We were ready for the comments.

this was us on stage!
We all had really good un on stage out of breath but happy with ourselfs and ready or the comments! We were expecting of bad comments as a laugh but nothing like we did! We got told we were good but this one judge said we all didn’t put enough effort in which I think we did! Then this is where he ruined the whole evening! He said I quote 'the show started when the singing stopped' employing the singing wasn't very good. As this was only for charity we found this offensive and rude. Me and Myraim went and spoke to him at the break and told him how we felt. Due to every being upset many people left and the teachers wrote compliant letters. Despite from the comments we had a lovely time!!
We didn’t win but we rose allot of money or a good charity! We did get an apology which was fair and kind! However I have had many comments from the audience saying it was amazing and well done!
Over all I really enjoyed this day! It was so nice to spend time with every one! Thank you to miss Dolan and miss Norris!! |
